Roger Jardine
Chairman

After graduating from Wayne State University in 1991, Roger assumed the role of co-ordinator for the ANC's desk of Science and Technology.  In 1995 he joined the Department of Science and Technology as director general, a role he fulfilled for five years.  Roger joined Kagiso Media in 1999 as chief executive officer.  In November 2006 he became chief operating officer of Kagiso Trust Investments.


Roger is a non-executive director of FirstRand Bank and also served as chairman of the CSIR and the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Afirca (NECSA) for six years.

Eugene Erasmus
Managing Director

Eugene started his career as an engineer with the Department of Water Affairs in 1974.  In 1979 he joined the LTA Civil Engineering Division as a site agent.  Eugene was appointed managing director of LTA Mining Areas Construction in 1987.  He rose through the ranks and in 1999 was appointed managing director of LTA Concessions.  After the merger, Eugene was appointed managing director of Grinaker-LTA Concessions and Major Infrastructure Projects.

Martin Hobbs
Director

Martin obtained his BSc Mech Eng degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1981.  In 1990 he obtained his BCom degree from UNISA.


In 1982 Martin joined Anglo American as Junior  Engineer at Saaiplaas Gold Mine.  He joined Standard Brass Iron and Steel Foundries as Production Manager in 1986.  Martin joined Grinaker Construction Limited as Regional Manager Plant in 1988 and has held the positions of Engineering Manager and Mining Engineering Director within Grinaker-LTA.


Martin was appointed Managing Director of Grinaker-LTA Mining In March 2010.

Brian Barrow
Executive Director

Brian attended the University of the Witwatersrand from 1968 to 1972 and obtained a certificate in the theory of accounting in 1972.  In 1973 he was admitted as a Chartered Accountant after passing the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants examination.  Brian served his articles with Ernst & Young constituent firm Stewart Steyn & Co from 1968 to 1972.


Brian joined the Grinaker group of companies in 1975 and continued employment with them in various capacities.   After the merger, Brian was appointed to the position of financial director of Grinaker-LTA.  In 2009, Brian was appointed Executive Director.

Vince Olley
Director

Vince received his National Diploma from the Newcastle Technical College in 1985.  He worked as an instrument mechanician at Iscor in Newcastle before joining Karbochem in 1988.  In 1990, he joined E L Bateman as an instrument field engineer.


Vince joined Groenewalds in 1994 as contracts manager and worked his way up the ranks and was promoted to the  position of managing director of Grinaker-LTA Mechanical and Electrical.  In 2009 Vince was appointed Executive Director of Grinaker-LTA.

Tony Page
Director

Tony joined LTA in 1982 as a site engineer.  After working on various prestigious projects, he was promoted to project manager in September 1992.  After being seconded to Marples Construction for 3 years, Tony returned to South Africa and was appointed general manager of LTA Earthworks (South).  After the merger, Tony was appoined general manager of Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Africa (East).


Tony is currently the managing director of the Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Engineering business unit.

Danny Quan
Director

 Danny joined the Group in 2009. During his career, Danny has held the following positions:
• Managing Director, Freyssinet, South Africa
• Group Divisional Director, Reinforcing Steel Contractors Holdings
• General Manager, Koch Membrane Structures GmbH, Middle East
• Regional Director, Birdair Asia
• Vice President Chief Operating Executive, Taiyo Birdair Corporation, USA
• Business Development Executive, Murray & Roberts



Danny was appointed to the Grinaker-LTA Board in May 2010 in the capacity of Group Business Development and Marketing Director.

Neil Potgieter
Director

Neil has more than 36 years' experience in the construction industry.  He joined LTA Building (E.Cape) in 1973 as a student contract surveyor.  Over the years he was promoted at varius levels occupying positions of senior contract surveyor, project manager, commercial manager director and branch manager.


From 1996 to 2000 he was the managing director of LTA Building (W. Cape).  From 2000 to 2006 Neil was the managing director of REHM-Grinaker and from 2006 to 2008 he was the managing director of Grinaker-LTA Building Cape.  In January 2008 Neil was promoted to managing director of the Building business unit.

Lelani Robertson
HR Director

Lelani started her career in Human Resources, initially specialising in training and development and later in Industrial Relations. She spent 9 years in the private security sector before joining Grinaker-LTA Mechanical & Electrical in 2004.


 Since 2004, Lelani has held numerous positions in HR leadership within the Aveng Group and in January 2008 she was appointed Group HR Director of Grinaker-LTA.

Dave Spooner
Director

Dave obtained his BSc Civil Engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1978.  He joined the Group in January 1979 and was project manager of various heavy industrial development and infrastructure projects.  In 1993 he was appointed director of Grinaker Concrete Construction and in 1995 was appointed managing director of Grinaker Concrete Construction.  Dave was appointed managing director of Grinaker Civil Engineering Inland in 1998.  After the merger, Dave was appointed managing director of Grinaker-LTA East Africa and Middle East.  Dave was appointed managing director of Grinaker-LTA Ciivl Engineering in July 2007.
