Community Outreach

Aveng Grinaker-LTA strives to ensure that its work benefits as many people as possible whilst providing a sustainable legacy for future generations. The Group has committed to spend 1% of annual earnings on corporate social investment.

Particular emphasis is placed on education, especially in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering. The Group also provides assistance aimed at improving the lives and well-being of communities in which it operates.

Significant funds have been committed to the National Business Initiative (NBI), an organisation created to enhance a business' contribution to South Africa's success. The NBI's three main thrusts to improving the lives of impoverished South Africans are education, economic growth and effective governance.

Community Projects

Aveng Grinaker-LTA strives to ensure a positive impact on the communities in which it operates. Where possible, we will contract local staff on projects and offer specialised training to ensure a high standard of work delivery.

By investing in the local communities where we operate, Aveng Grinaker-LTA aims to have a sustainable contribution which will establish growth of small- to medium-sized enterprises and outsource of goods and services from local vendors where appropriate.

Sibonile School for the Blind

CSI Project gives blind children a brighter future

In a heart-warming CSI initiative, Aveng Grinaker-LTA partnered with Sedibeng Brewery, Eris Property Group and Ilanga Oils in sponsoring a new girls’ dormitory at Sibonile School for the Blind in the Randvaal district.

The new hostel accommodation will enable the school to open its doors to more visually-impaired children - many of whom are currently on a long waiting list. “The school's limited accommodation had been a stumbling block in its goal to cater for the many visually impaired learners from the surrounding communities, and from further afield”, says Principal Bafedi Moruthane.
